Health strip Field-tested
The colored row at the top of VSK Cameras. One glance answers “is the show safe?” - green is good, amber needs attention, red is a problem. Informational only; it never acts on its own.
| Item | Reads | Green / amber / red |
|---|---|---|
● SESSION | PIE running | green in Play, hollow otherwise |
C1 C2 C3 | Per-camera SDI capture (billboard order - matches the PROGRAM card) | ● live / ◐ opening / ○ closed |
● OUT | Program SDI output | green while sending |
● REC n | Recording, with take count | deliberately red while recording |
TC hh:mm:ss:ff | Timecode | - |
G … | Genlock state | locked / free run |
xx.x fps | Render rate | ≥48 / 24-48 / <24 |
late n | Late frames on the output | 0 / 1-50 / >50 |
CPU xx% | Game-thread load | <70 / 70-90 / ≥90 % |
GPU xx.x ms | GPU frame time | <18 / 18-25 / ≥25 ms (18 ms = safe for 1080p50) |
How to act: amber fps/GPU → simplify the set or lighting before it shows on air; rising
late → the output can’t keep pace, check GPU time and the video mode; a hollow camera dot →
check the DeckLink connector and read the log line, because an idle port still
emits black carrier.
